About Soul Lightening International

Soul Lightening International (SLI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the teachings of Process Acupressure and Clinical Acupressure, and to the outreach efforts of the Spirit of Seva Project.

SLI’s mission is to cultivate soul actualization and purpose in the world, to further human evolution, health and awakening, for the preservation of the family and the global community.

About Soul Lightening Acupressure

Acupressure is the practice of applying hand or finger pressure to specific energetic or conductive points on the body. It is based upon the same ancient principles as the art of acupuncture, except that it uses the softer form of curved finger pressure on the points. Recipients of this work report feeling nurtured and supported.

In the spirit of Seva (compassionate service) we believe the individuals who receive and/or practice this deep and effective tool for healing will have a positive, healthy impact upon their families, their communities, and the world. As more and more individuals come into harmony within their own being, the balancing effect on their families and their communities expands as well. The Dalai Lama has said "although creating world peace through individual transformation is difficult... it is the only way."

About the Orginator of Soul Lightening Acupressure

Aminah Raheem, Ph.D. is the originator of Soul Lightening® Acupressure. She developed the holistic methods of Process Acupressure and Clinical Acupressure after more than 20 years of study in various psychologies (including Process Work) and hands-on body modalities, along with 40 years of spiritual practice.

This work began with her development of Process Acupressure, which works through the body’s energy systems to assist conscious development and the realization of soul purpose. She is also the originator of Clinical Acupressure which specializes in the dynamic, multi-dimensional aspects of the human energy system but does not incorporate psycho-spiritual processing skills.

Dr. Raheem is the author of Soul Return: Integrating Body, Psyche and Spirit, a book at the forefront of defining the relationship of body and soul, and Soul Lightning: Awakening Soul Consciousness, which charts an individual and global path for reaching soul consciousness. Through her writing, we find models we can apply to our own lives that demonstrate how to complete the past and create a new life, woven from the stuff of our own souls. Her stories confirm that we, too, have had “soul lightenings” that can lead to soul consciousness. This book helps us to move along more confidently on our own soul journeys.

Dr. Raheem has worked for over 30 years with body/soul coherence, as a transpersonal psychologist, bodyworker and teacher. As a master teacher of psycho-spiritual development, Dr. Raheem has taught holistic theory and practice to bodyworkers and psychotherapists throughout the world. She was adjunct faculty at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology for 10 years, and her workshops can now be found at venues such as Esalen and the Upledger Institute.

In addition to earning her Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology, Dr. Raheem is also a Zero Balancer, Zero Balancing Teacher, and a Diplomate of Process Work. She is the founder and president of Soul Lightening International.

Process Acupressure 1: Gateway to Soul - PA 1: Gateway to Soul (4 days): Uses the basic PA whole-body acupressure protocol learned in this class or CA1 or Intro to Soul Lightening Acupressure. Fundamental psycho-spiritual process skills are taught for working with the body and consciousness simultaneously as data arises from the body during bodywork. Our objective is to derive meaning and purpose from personal history and to find the soul as most valuable life guide. Introduces a model of the whole being--body. mind, emotions, soul--related to energy flow in the body. Teaches Chakra Tai Chi and consciousness related to the chakras.

Awaken to your full potential - Enhance the channels of awareness and communication with your clients and with yourself.
Process Acupressure will advance your practice to a whole new level!

Process Acupressure (PA) is a simple, yet profound, wholistic method that combines traditional acupressure (to a fully-clothed body) with a process approach to consciousness. It facilitates healing and the natural growth process that arises from within the individual. Process skills are taught that facilitate clarity-in mind, emotions, and spirit. Soul centered development is emphasized.

Although acupressure is a lifelong study, this course will empower you to work effectively with energy flow in the body including both meridians and chakras, toward greater balance. You will learn tools that give you confidence. PA can be used alone for self-help or easily given to another. It can also be combined with another body modality. For example, our work with the Great Central Channel strengthens the energetic pathway of the spine and is an excellent complement to Acupunture, Chiropractic, CranioSacral Therapy, Massage Therapy, rehab modalities, and more.

In this workshop you will learn:
- a simple but powerful acupressure method to balance body energy
- how to combine bodywork with psycological-spiritual process skills
- how to empower self and client toward greater understanding and responsibility for health and growth
- to focus health and development in the most fundamental strength and wisdom of one's own soul
- how to use the skills on yourself to further your own growth

Curriculum Overview

The Process Acupressure (PA) and Clinical Acupressure (CA) coursework is designed to teach bodyworkers basic skills in the beginning classes that will serve him or her throughout the learning process.

Process Acupressure Overview

If bodyworkers are primarily interested in combining acupressure with processing skills, they can take the two-day course Introduction to Soul Lightening Acupressure. They will learn chakra tai chi, interface touch, and two basic protocols, or they may begin with PA1: Gateway to Soul, followed by Advanced PA1: Living in Soul and certain other electives that use the basic protocols.

Or starting with CA1: Basic Applications allows the student to choose which track they wish to follow: Process Acupressure or Clinical Acupressure. CA1 is also required for PA certification and is a prerequisite for the advanced PA classes: PA2, PA3, and PA4. So, if the student thinks they may be interested in learning advanced processing skills at some point in the future, starting with CA1 is a good choice. In order to take PA3, they also will need to take CA2:Meridians.

The following listing shows two alternative tracks for the Process Acupressure curriculum.

Process Acupressure Track 1
1. Introduction to Soul Lightening Acupressure or PA1: Gateway to Soul
2. Advanced PA1: Living in Soul, and Inner Child Healing
This is as far as the student can go in this track without CA1.

Process Acupressure Track alternative
1. CA1: Basic Applications
2. PA1: Gateway to Soul
3. Advanced PA1: Living in Soul, PA2: Body and Personality Parts, and Inner Child Healing in any order
4. PA3: The Hologram; Prerequistes are: PA2, and CA2: Meridians 5. PA4: Transpersonal Integration; Prerequisites are: Advanced PA1, and PA2

Clinical Acupressure Overview

If they are interested in a more clinical approach, and are not so interested in learning processing skills, they may choose to take Clinical Acupressure 1: Basic Applications as their first course. Following this course, they may continue with CA2: Meridians in the Clinical Acupressure Track and then take the CA Practica.
